An ordering site that feels like Uber Eats — and takes zero commission.
order.chadspizza.ca is live right now for Chad's Pizza in Maple Ridge — a mobile-first ordering system we built end to end, wired directly into the Clover terminal already running their counter. No delivery-app commission, no separate payment processor, no order that has to be re-typed by hand.
The problem
Every online order was costing Chad money before he saw a dollar of it.
Like most independent restaurants, Chad's Pizza had two bad options: pay a delivery-app commission of 15–30% on every online order, or run a generic ordering widget bolted onto the website that didn't talk to the Clover POS already sitting on the counter — meaning every online order still had to be typed into the register by hand. Neither option scaled, and neither one felt like it belonged to the restaurant.
What we built
Six pieces, working as one system.
Direct Clover POS integration
Every online order lands straight in the same Clover system already running the counter — no tablet full of unrelated apps, no re-typing an order that already exists.
Kitchen printer integration
The moment an order is placed, a ticket prints in the kitchen automatically — the same trigger a counter order fires, so front and back of house work off one system.
Live order screen
A kitchen-facing display shows orders as they come in, so staff aren’t relying on a printer alone to know what’s next.
Payments run through Clover — not Stripe
Transactions post directly through the Clover merchant account already in place. No separate payment processor sitting in the middle taking its own cut on top of what Clover already charges.
A real half-and-half pizza builder
Left / whole / right topping placement, gluten-free crust as a toggle, a guided step flow — the kind of custom ordering logic a template or generic ordering widget can’t express.
Store-hours aware, automatically
Outside business hours the site switches to browse-only mode on its own — no missed calls, no orders taken that can’t be filled.
Why it's mobile-first, not mobile-friendly
Most pizza orders happen on a phone, on a couch, mid-decision.
"Responsive" usually means a desktop layout that survives being squeezed onto a phone. This was designed the other way around — the same tap-to-add, sticky category bar, and step-by-step builder you'd expect from a major delivery app, because that's the standard customers already hold every food-ordering site to, whether they think about it consciously or not.
Why it matters
The math is the whole point.
On a $35 order, a 25% delivery-app commission is $8.75 gone before food cost or labour. Routed through Clover directly, that same order costs standard card processing — roughly $1 — with nothing extra layered on top for a third-party payment processor. We've written up the full math, if you want to see exactly where that gap comes from and at what order volume it's worth building your own.
